Over time, I have gradually fitted bigger and bigger screws to my wing root fairings as the holes became enlarged.
I am not a trained aircraft maintainer, although I have always maintained all my own aeroplanes. I do this by asking an expert, then copying what he shows me (monkey see, monkey do).
I asked Rob how to repair my fairing holes and this is what he showed me to do....
Fill the holes with kebab skewers, cocktail sticks and toothpicks glued in place until they're stuffed full.
When the glue's dry, cut off the ends and sand them down until flush.
Drill pilot holes, screw home nice new, little screws.
Most of you probably knew all this, but it was new to me.
