I have a couple of MGL Stratomaster E-1 Engine monitors and an artificial Horizon, and they are inexpensive and combine a lot of info into a small display.
There are 3 1/2 and 2 1/4" versions of their line.
The universal Engine monitor which is about $225 monitors RPM, engine time, 4 CHT's, 4 EGT's, Oil temp & Presure, water temp(Which I hooked up the input to a fuel sender and get fuel level instead).
You can configure some of the input signals to work with non-standard devices.
Plus you can set alarms on nearly everything(Audible, flashing item on display and a red warning LED).
