Most probably wont have seen or heard of this on here, but two years ago I was involved in a documentary with one of the large production companies here in the UK where we built a glider from floorboards, door hinges, and random fixings in the roof of the former WW2 POW camp at Colditz Castle in Germany. The first cut went out in the UK, Europe and Australia in August 2012, but the USA cut is now finished and will be broadcast by PBS on the 14th May 2014. I've not seen the full USA cut myself, but for those who have an interest in WW2 aviation, might be interested to watch!

I saw that here in the UK and the glider flew to a landing in a field by the river, as I recall. The hardest part seemed to be in configuring the launch catapult.

What is different about a USA cut?

(You speak slowly and try to use monosyllables?----or NTSC/ATSC/etc.?)

Actually there is quite a difference. The UK cut tends to have more "current day experiences" with their documentaries and are usually 90 mins. The USA cut tends to be 120 mins and has a lot more historical data included. At the end of last year I had to provide copies and references for our historical research we made on the airframe and it's construction, something the UK production company didn't need!

Hopefully I'll get a copy soon to see myself.

Some may remember the recreation of the dambusters bouncing bomb using buffalo airways DC4 - this is a follow on from that documentary.
