Well it looks like Google is in the process of retiring the Picasa photo site/system. For me this has been a great place to post build photos as it supports captions and you can access thumbnails to put inside forum posts. (It's also likely that all the photo links I've used will break soon as well.)

The thing they are moving to - Google Photos - is a social media focused app that does not support captions and seems to be solely aimed at tracking the gazillion selfies the world generates every day -- not serious archiving of images and information.

Does anyone else use Picasa? How/where do you put photos for sharing? Any experience with other photo archiving sites that support captions/descriptions -- and that might be around for awhile???

I just moved to Google Drive. Create a folder and upload your pictures to it. You can then share/link/embed as needed. Another alternative is Dropbox, which has become pretty good at photo sharing too.
