I recently had a problem with the fuel drain on the Fuel Cock / Filter leaking. Drains are cheap enough so I simply looked for a replacement. Two commonly available types are by Curtis and SAF-AIR but I couldn’t find anything in the right size. I didn’t try to see if they might be available in Germany as I was in a hurry to find a solution.
The ones fitted to the Fournier appear to have a metric thread. In searching however I noticed that the SAF units are repairable so I looked at my valve a little more closely. If the valve is compressed then, on the inside, the sealing O ring is exposed. It can be carefully removed with a cocktail stick and a suitable replacement slipped on. Problem solved in minutes.
Although I didn’t want to force the unit it appears that the flat bottom disc can be unscrewed from the valve stem if the spring has gone weak and needs replacing.
Hope this info saves someone else time.
