In researching wingtip strobes and position lights I came across these cool LED units called Powerburst from a company called AveoEngineering.
They have a white or red position light, strobe, and white position light all in a tiny package of solid acrylic. There is no bulky power supply -- just feed them 12/14 volts. I think you can just flatten off the end of the wing and mount it. That's my plan anyway.
I had not seen these before and thought others might find them interesting. I got them from Aircraft Spruce.
