Hello Fournieteers,
I got a nice mail from a friend who keeps an eye on the administrative side of european flying. In Europe, many (most?) Fourniers are operated on Experimental or "permit to fly" permits. This is a great advantage when it comes to doing your own maintenance or modifications, but one of the downsides has been that you need a permission to fly abroad. In essence, it's been necessary to contact the other contry's FAA and get written permission to fly in foreign aerospace, needless to say a bureucratic hassle that hasn't exactly promoted flying abroad.

But Fourniers are now excepted from that rule:

Check out the last paragraph on page one. So fellow Fournieteers, now we can follow captain Kirk on the Enterprise and get "out there....."!

May the 4s be with you/ Jörgen

Hi Jorgen,

You are quite correct.

My only issue (a small one) on my long overseas Fournierflight was the need to request approval from the Norwegians.

I wrote to them, a very nice chap phoned me back to chat, and approval for overflight, displaying and general operation in Norway was given for (I think) three months, with no fee to pay.

Let's go international flying!

Yours, Bob
