A group from a gliding club in Finland make an annual pilgrimage to the Northernmost city in Sweden and fly the the wave from a runway made on a frozen lake.
It's a very interesting film. The gliders appear to have a double layer of plexiglass in the canopy to help prevent them them freezing over at - 50 degrees Celcius.

great film! I haven't been there (yet) but I've heard some of the stories and flown similar places. Icing covering the canopy is not rare and sometimes people have to be "talked down"..... From my place it's a 1200 mile drive so maybe not this year....
