Gentlemen:

After flying for 53 years, the Federal Aviation Agency has stabbed me in the heart! The FAA has pulled my medical certificate based on a bogus and erroneous diagnosis. I've spent a fortune and continue to do so, to reverse this unfair and arbitrary decision by the FAA. Regardless as to whether I regain my medical certificate or not, I have always wanted one. I want one now more than ever. I NEED TO FLY!

I am willing to travel to the end of the world to find a flyable RF-5 or RF-4. I will pay top dollar for the right flyable Fournier. I prefer a RF-5 but I will also be very happy with a good RF-4. I would love to find my dream airplane here in the U.S., but again, I am willing to fly to Europe or anywhere to find the right one.

Please e-mail me ASAP with all the details. If the right Fournier comes up, I will get on a jet and come to see you right away. I will bring a bucket full of money; ........ just in case I fall in love with your RF.

I've been communicating with Steve Beaver and as I told him, this Fournier forum is "dripping" with passion and love for this wonderful aircraft and flying them; ....... you guys are my kind of people.

I look forward to finding my Fournier and joining the joy reflected in this forum.

Best regards;

I FOUND ONE! I have found a RF-5 here in the U.S. and the seller and I have agreed on the price. I will be delivering a cashier check to the seller for the agreed price within the next week, and I will fly it to my home airfield in Snohomish, Washington, once the weather improves. I am very happy and I will be joining the Fournier owner community in a short time. My thanks to Collin for his tremendous generosity and providing me with his invaluable expertise. As I mentioned in my want ad and post on this forum, this is my dream aircraft; .......... show me a man without a dream and you will find a man without a future.

Hiya JC, and welcome to our world.

Because the RF5 is so different from other airplanes, I'm guessing the former owner will be checking you out, but if you want to prepare yourself there is some info on this thread. It is aimed at the RF4D, but the RF5 handles very similarly. It is just a bit bigger and heavier.

Meanwhile, my wife Karen & I have very happy memories of Snohomish, because that is where we bought our lovely little Champ back in 1988. We stayed there for a month in July, flying it all around the area before packing it up and sending it home.

I hope you get many years of pleasure from your Fournier, just as I have from mine.

Let us know what you think when you have flown it.

All the best, Bob

Hello Bob:

I am sorry I have not responded to your post sooner. Such small world we live in. I've at Harvey Field in Snohomish since I was 15 years old. I used to fuel airplanes and also learned to fly there ............... in an Aeronca Champ. My daughters also soloed in the same Aeronca Champ that I soloed back in 1965. By the way, that Champ, N84842 is still available for rent here in Snohomish. I also presently own a Champ. It is highly modified with a O-235 Lycoming, 84 inches "missing" from the wings and zero dihedral. It has about the same performance as a Citabria.

I am very much looking forward to flying my RF-5 from N.Y.; ......... 2300 miles! It is going to be like eating an elephant; ..... it is going to take a long time. LOL! Collin has very generously helped me with all the logistics and I have flown with him recently in his RF-5. I will be seeking advice from Collin and all the "Fournicators", as to how to install a temporary ferry tank in the back seat. I have found several 10 gallon tanks that will suit my purpose. I have yet to figure out as to how to connect the transfer gas line to the main tank. Pictures and advice of how to connect the fuel lines to the main tank will greatly appreciated. Flying over Montana and Wyoming, suitable airports are far in between and the availability of fuel is somewhat limited.

I loved all the images of you flying aerobatics with your bird and I just happen to have a couple of parachutes for that purpose. Once I figure out how to post images on this forum I will be posting photos of my new "love bird".

Best regards; "J.C."

There is now a new, and very simple way to post pictures to the forum. Please see:

http://sbeaver.com/cgi-bin/fournier/cutecast.pl?session=A2epRwpZ3JlfjNmaLYBpjcfqq3&forum=16&thread=1201

Just make sure the images you post are no wider than about 900 pixels.

Great stuff Steve. Thank you for all your hard work. I'll post photos this way in future.

Regrettably I'm not sure that I shall be able to find & resubmit all those photos that the other servers deleted, but I'll see what I can do when I have the time.

Meanwhile I've successfully edited a Champ pic into the above thread.

Happy Fournicating, Bob

She looks beautiful JC, but beware, that is not an RF5.
It is an RF5B and therefore definitely NOT AEROBATIC.

Just a word to the wise.

All the best, Bob
