Hi Everyone,

With permission from Cal-Fire, Mike Salas was able to take some photos from a drone this morning at sunrise, here is my favorite.
We currently have 22 helicopters, support equipment, fuel tankers and over 100 fire personnel working at our airport. The fire is still out of control and this operation is still very large and active.
Please know that we are doing everything we can to support the firefighting operation as well as making it clear that we would like to get our runway operational as soon as it is practical.

As you can see in this photo, with the scope of the current operation, there is nowhere for all these machines to operate other than our runway and taxiway areas.
We appreciate your continued support of our community and beyond.
Although this is an inconvenience to some, it is so important for all of us to realize the vital role Santa Paula Airport is playing in the face of a large scale disaster. We hope to be an example to other towns and communities who may not appreciate the necessity of all the small town airports scattered around the country.
Keep the positive attitude out there and we will get through this together and come out stronger than ever.

This is a superb example of an aviation community banding together to fight nature.

More power to them all!

Thank you Mrs Mason for letting us know and for supporting the firefight. I have enjoyed the airport facilities in many a little town in the US where
I've met so many nice people, experienced generous hospitality and shared many stories. Hang in there, rest assured you´re in my prayers and I hope to drop by Santa Paula
when I get to visit SoCal next year.

May the 4's be with you/ Jörgen
