Hi Sam,
sounds almost too good to be true, low noise scimitar-shaped blades with automatic pitch change and you can get three or four blade-props for your RF 4 if you want. Anyone have first hand experience with these or something similar? Collin, didn´t you get a scimitar shaped Culver prop?

Take 5(b) just 4 fun/ Jörgen

Hello,

I just read the info on the Prince Propellers. Sounds worth trying.

I am now using a Culver propeller on my 1385cc engine. Full power climb 2,800 rpm is little over 600 fpm @ 75 mph. Max speed 132 mph @ 3,400 rpm

Hi Guys,

Beware of using carbon-fibre propellers on direct drive engines.

They're OK on geared motors (Rotax etc) but dangerous on direct drive because they can come apart very quickly (milliseconds) in flight due to the engine's pulses.

Carbon fibre sheathed woden props might be OK, but remember Rolls Royce went bust when they put carbon fibre fan blades on the RB 211 (fan rpm around 1,500 to 2,000 rpm). The blades went furry and broke up when encountering rain.

A wooden prop on a wooden airplane sounds to me like tried-and-trusted technology.

Yours, Bob
