Another Bü BBQ is in the books. We had five Buckers attend this year from various places. Greg Stringer and Joe Santana brought their Jungmann's from New Jersey and Virginia respectively. Steve Hawley's Jungmann was here as well from South Carolina, all three arrived on Thursday afternoon. Jim White's red and white airplane made the non stop trip from Taccoa, Georgia. The fifth airplane was Tom Muller's Jungmeister from South Georgia.
Friday was a beautiful day, with plenty of Bücker flying and aerobatics over the field. We were happy to have a new guest, Rick Cawley on Friday afternoon. Rick brought his 50% scale radio controlled Jungmeister to add to the event. The model was very impressive with scale details such as rib stitching, a correct Bucker elevator hinge, and a real 5 cylinder radial engine! His demo flights on Saturday were a big hit.
We had another surprise guest in Barb Gronski on Saturday afternoon. It was a real pleasure reminiscing on the Bü BBQ when it was at Kitty Hawk field in Live Oak FL. We were happy that Barb came and that she is doing well.
The threat of poor weather chased the pilots back home on Saturday rather than Sunday as usual. Regardless we had a great time at this years event. This is such a special gathering of Bücker pilots and enthusiasts. When telling folks about this event I often describe it as a family reunion, this community is really that special.
On behalf of my family I want to thank everyone who made the trip to come to our event. It is something we look forward to every year, because we enjoy these fine folks coming to our home airport for the weekend. This event was very special to my father as well and I am happy to be able to carry on this tradition and plan to for years to come.

We hope to see more of our Bücker family in Montana in August, and we are already looking forward to next years BÜ BBQ!
