Peter Funk is in the last stages of preparing a Jungmann for display in Friedrichshafen. The aircraft B & F have produced to date have been powered by a 90 HP Walter Mikron engine and with an empty wight in the 600 lb area, they perform very well.
The latest models have the new LOM 132AE and have a structure designed to accommodate the extra power. The Walter powered aircraft are really Bu 131As, whereas thenew LOM aircraft are structurally similar to the Bu 131B.
I suspect this may turn out to be the best Jungmann variant ever. The attention to detail and quality of B & F's aircraft, coupled with the higher power and extremely low weight of the LOM 132E should be a compelling combination.
As a reminder, the 132AE has electronic ignition. This has allowed the fuel injection system to be relocated to the previous location of one of the magnetos, which in turn allows the engine mount to be shortened and a cowling of original Hirth dimensions to be used. The engine also has a higher compression ratio than its predecessors allowing it to provide the same power as the super-charged model, but without the complexity and weight of the super charger.
