I need access to the rear side of the firewall. It seems that the fasteners holding the regulator for my alternator are bolts with nuts on the passenger side of the firewall.
On my RF5B, I do not find access panels to allow this. Can the plastic well for the main gear be unfastened and moved enough to allow access to the firewall?
How do you fellows do this?
Thanks,
James

Yes, you can do it, but maybe you have to unfasten the instrument panel in order to have room to slid back the wheel cover. I suppose you have the original fuel tank behind the panel, so you do not have much room over the wheel cover too.
On some Fourniers inspection holes have been done to reach the back side of the firewall. Probably this weakens the fuselage (not too much I suppose) bur without doubts is very practical.
