Hi Guys,
My British oil temp gauge does not work, and the pressure one is suspect.
I would like to replace them with original, VDO, capillary, black-faced kg/sq cm and degrees C gauges plus the copper pipes and senders.
Does anybody know a source for these?
No, I do NOT want a modern, electric/electronic anything, and certainly not a multi-reading digital nasty thing.

VDO mechanical oil gauges are out of production so it is not easy to find them. Check a VDO dealer or contact Collin, he has sources to find VDO instruments in the USA.
Surely mechanical gauges are better on RF's without electrical generator, they don't need power.

Here are mine gauges that North Hollywood Speedo rebuilt. The gauge markings are on the gauge faces under the glass.

Wow! I'm an orificer, I hadn't noticed.
Thanks for all the leads guys, I'll let you know how I get on.
I didn't really want these gauges rebuilt, because that would ground the aeroplane while I waited for it to happen.
New ones would be better, so I'll get on to it today (or tomorrow, it's flyable).

Thanks very much for such quick and comprehensive offers of help.
I've bought a couple of Smiths gauges from Merlin Motorsport to keep me going, and I'll get the VDO ones repaired while I'm out in Aus.
Needless, to say, they don't fit immediately, but need 10mm to 1/8 BSP adaptors, available from the same source.

I got second hand Mini (Mini Cooper?) oil pressure gauge for our RF3 from ebay for a fiver. It may not be authentic but it works fine. Probably needs a different sump adaptor though.
