Could someone post some pictures or drawings of the RF5B landing gear mechanism. Our has play in the fore and aft direction and our mechanic wants us to check it out when we replace the tire. I have seen some old posts, but a drawing or picture would help us understand what we are looking for. Our mechanic has suggested the gear down stop blocks may have become worn and need to be resurfaced, but I am thinking it may be something else.

Hi Ray,

Make sure the tire is not to big. Another RF owner had installed a little bit larger tire and it stuck on the first flight and had to land with the gear up.

Usually the play is between the half moon slots on the side of the undercarriage and the locking fork that engages in the slots. If you want the drawings you should ask to Michel Leblanc, CFI International (France) President.
You will need the drawing 5.40.01 (Undercarriage arrangement), 5.40.15 (The two halfmoon), and 5.40.57 (The locking fork). Take also care of the small spring that locks the safety lock of the system.

Thanks, how do we contact Michel?

Play was noted while on jacks for a retract test.

Tire is 600 x 6, plan on the same size. I will do a retract test and make sure we have clearance, thanks.
