--- Tire for RF5B (https://sbeaver.com/cgi-bin/fournier/cutecast.pl?forum=11&thread=983&page=)

With the help of Martin Hill, I have been looking into the tires for our RF5B. It seems that everyone is using the 600 X 6 tires. There have been some cautions about the fact these seem to vary in size from brand to brand. The drawings for the RF5 undercarriage shows a 420 X 150 tire. The only tire that I can find of this size is for a 6.5 inch wheel. Was this tire available for a 6 inch wheel in the past? The 420-150 seems to be approx 1/2 to 1 inch smaller in diameter than the 600 X 6. There is another common aircraft tire, the 15 / 6.0 X 6. This tire is 15 inches in diameter with a load rating of 1950 for the 6 ply. In general terms, the 600 X 6 is 17 inches, the 420-150 is 16 inches (assumes a 6 inch wheel size was avialble) and the 15 / 6.0 X 6 is 15 inches in diameter.

Has anyone used the 15/6.0X6 on a RF5? Can anyone give us some more history on the tires and wheels that were used on the RF5 and RF5B in the past?
