A couple of posts ago — well, in 2011 as it turns out — I was complaining about excessive internal friction in my Aussie RF4D's engine.

We solved that problem.

But last year (2023) I started noticing Wagon's engine was tightening up when it got hot.
I've recounted this story four times now, so to save me a bit of effort, here's one of the published versions...

So here's my engine, superbly rebuilt by VW guru and Tipsy Nipper aerobatics ace, Tony Spooner in just 25 days...

but plus a component that would have caused at the least a substantial power loss, if not complete failure.

It's a cam follower that has cracked, broken up, and started trepanning its way through its pushrod.
