Perhaps no one noticed but those using a Chrome based browser (Chrome, Opera, Edge etc) will have been unable to log in. The forum appeared to accept the login, but then reverted to being logged out. - Safari and other non chrome-kit browsers were not affected.
Unfortunately the developer of the forum software (Cutecast) abandoned the project some years ago so no help was available, but after a little detective work the cause revealed itself. The "cookie" that is sent to the browser to confirm that the user is logged in had an expiration date of December 2020. No doubt the original developer though that was so far in the future no one would ever worry about it 
Anyway, that has now been fixed and users of Chrome based browsers can log in again.
