Don't laugh. Here is a picture of my heated control stick. It is a heated grip element from a motorcycle. I have used them before on my KTM. Very nice in cold weather. I also offset the stick.

Aerostich sells a dynamite controller for these that I have used on several bikes. It's basically a pulse type controller that allows about 20% on time to the full100%. A led on the unit flashes to pulse rate of the controller.
I found the 2 position switch version of these grips (With a dropping resistor) to be too hot or too cold and the heat controller to be just right! This is a far better efficient way to reduce temperature.

How is the RF4 coming along?
The heating element I am using is upgraded element that has two paths 1 low and 1 high so no resistor is used. (3 wires). I will look in the Aerostich catalog that just came in the mail about the controller. I am also thinking about a heated jacket and socks. It gets cold in Oregon.

I've been away from the project for a couple of months for personal reasons (2 deaths in the family and fighting the FAA for my medical)
In the mean time I've added too many motorcycles to my short term gradification needs.
Question, I've been trying to smooth out the turtle deck and am either ready to paint it or give it to a pro to reskin. Any recomendations?
Otherwise it's nearly there.
