Not sure if anyone here knows Hugh Targett from Northern Australia, but sadly he has been in a crash with his Moni Motorglider.
I had bought some Moni engine parts from him a few years ago.
The Examiner newspaper reports that apparently he lost control of the Moni after takeoff.
He is in critical condition in hospital, and in a medically induced comma.
He amazingly does not have serious head nor spinal injuries but otherwise has lacerations and internal damage.
We all hope he has a speedy and complete recovery and will know more in a couple weeks when he will be brought out of the comma.
Its always difficult to hear of a fellow aviators misfortune, and a reminder for the rest of us to always be vigilant in our endeavours.

I don't know Hugh but wish him a speedy recovery.
I looked at a Moni before I found my RF3, but was put off a little by (a) the landing gear configuration had been changed from monotrack, and (b) it was terrifically noisy, though I admired the concept.

I heard that Hugh was recovering in Hospital nicely and has probably been released at this point.
Glad to hear he did not meet an untimely end.
