jb92563 Unregistered	Posted Monday, January 16, 2012 @ 05:02 PM I am assuming that the standard RF4D spinner is made of aluminum. Some paint was coming off mine and it looks like there might be some kind of anodising under the paint. In any case, I wanted to sand all that off to the bare aluminum and then polish it up to a mirror finish. Anyone see any issues with this? Obviously I'll keep the sanding to a minimum so as not to weaken or overly thin the spinner. I wonder if anyone has tried and what they thought of it? --------------------

The swallows in ours have made a real mess of the Maule's polished spinner -- all that acid! Just as well that the pelicans can't get in! Yours, Bob --------------------
jb92563 Unregistered	Posted Tuesday, January 17, 2012 @ 11:42 AM Now that I have my RF4D in an Ensign hanger I will not even have to worry about bird droppings. The Ensign hanger is bird proof so far. Good thing because I still have to patch the Talon holes in one wing where a raptor missed his prey and got my wing. Ground squirrels and rabbits used to be a problem. Seems like birds only ever shit on clean airplanes, new paint and canopies, and after they have eaten berries. I polished 52' of Aluminum wing on my HP-11 with excellent results so a wee spinner should be a breeze. That Nuvite polish in its various abrasive grades is miraculous.
