jb92563 Unregistered	Posted Monday, September 20, 2010 @ 02:53 PM I recently received some new ratio rockers for the Rectimo 1400cc engine. The old ones are 1:1 ratio I believe and the ones I received a couple days ago from Collin are 1:1.1 ratio? Its my understanding that what this does in theory is depresses the intake and exhaust Valves further open which helps the "breathing" improving the combustion/exhaust cycle of the engine and results in a bit more power. I will install these in a few weeks after I have had a chance to benchmark the current performance, and see what gains I get from the improvement. I'll post the results here when I get some; RPMs, CHT's, EGT's, rate of climb, airspeed, fuel burn rate etc. --------------------
Collin Unregistered	Posted Monday, September 20, 2010 @ 09:56 PM Hello, Just some info to pass on. Std. VW type 1 camshafts are only .300" (7.60mm) Intake lift. The Exhaust is .280" (7.10mm lift) With std. 40hp rockers arms 1-1 ratio the lift does not increase. 1.6L rockers 1-1.10 the lift increases to .330" (8.38mm) intake lift. .308" (7.82mm) Aftermarket & Factory 1-1.25 rockers the lift increases to .375" (9.53mm) intake, .350" (8.90mm) The increases are small but very thing helps. I added 1-1.25 rockers to the RF5B and I have seen about 75 rpm increase (about 2-2.5hp)
