Hi Folks,

I am really sorry, but I didn't have time to tell everyone that the Red Bull organization once again invited me to one of their air races to fly aerobatics in my RF4 as a 'side act' to entertain the crowds while nothing more interesting was happening. They only gave me eight days notice, and I was in Seattle at the time with a dismantled engine on the garage bench back home, so I had a lot to do, to get back, fix the motor, re-write my routine, get some practice and GO.

I flew on both the Saturday and the Sunday, and had a great time.

And this time I managed to get the camera running, so I have some pretty cool (well I think so) on-board footage. And this time it's facing forwards. You don't see the smoke so well, but you should not feel so airsick!

Now I've fixed the computer (for a while, anyway) so when I can get a programme to convert the .MOV file to a .WMV file, I can reduce the file size on Windows Movie Maker and post it with my other clips on YouTube.

Give me a little time, and I'll get it up so you can all see it (and, I hope, enjoy it).

Oh, and they've said they want me again for the finals in Perth, 1st & 2nd November.
Now I've got to perfect my 'inverted system'.

Happy Fournicating to you all.

Yours, Bob

Hey Bob

Love to hear more on your inverted system when you get it going

Hi Sam,

The info on my inverted lubrication system is already on this site.

My inverted fuel system merely utilises the 20cc of fuel in the standard carburator's float bowl. This provides 13 seconds of full-throttle power when I'm upside-down, more than enough for all the manoeuvres I fly.

Have fun modifying.

Yours, Bob

Hi again Sam,

Look in the Engines section, under 'Heavy Breathing' and 'Inverted Engine Lubrication'.

There's lots of other good stuff on this site too, dotted around all over the place.

You might like to try doing what I have done. One day, when the weather is too poor to go flying, so you have a couple of hours spare, open a new Word document, then start with the first ever post on the site and go through and read everything.

Anything you think might be useful in the future: highlight, copy and paste into your Word document.

When you've done, print out the lot and you haave a kind of Flight Manual supplement, full of hints and tips and useful information, like what model of scooter the brake comes from, the part number for the engine mount rubbers, how to jack up the airplane, how to separate wing and engine, how to replace the suspension bungees.

There are also tips on lots of modifications. It is all worth printing and keeping to refer to when you are down at the hangar.

Yours, Bob
