Hi Guys,

Planes TV have made a great composite clip (external and internal footage) of our flying at Duxford last Autumn (Fall).
I hope this link to it works, and if you're really sad you can even download it to your computer to see again.

There you are Sofi, love from f'bo Bob

F'bo Bob,
that was an absolutely spectacular video, thanks for sharing that. Sofi sends her very best greetings back and was very thrilled to see "-...the smoking aeroplanes with the funny music". She did however inquire "-Where's the hamster?"- she is very fond of various rodents and their playtoys you see. The video is now downloaded so the subsequent shows will not turn up on the viewing polls.

Excellent and inspiring as always, I like the way AWEK and AWGN sounds together. Although not as loud as bigger engined aeroplanes the prop sound of Fourniers add to the experience. It's not Merlin's, but the association is there somehow and I have actually had Aeroshow pilots of huge piston engined planes (reluctantly and discreetly) comment that they liked the propsound of the 4 after I tore up some Air on our Aerial get-togethers.

I also like your "wingwaggle" salute at the end, waving is perhaps more intimate, but for a formation I think waggling is even more appropriate. Keep up the good work and have a splendid disply season!

MAY the 4's be with you/ Jörgen

P.S. Will you extend regards to f'bo Matt too? D.S.

Thanks very much Guys,

We do the wing-rock (we call it 'rocky horror') if we're limited to a high minimum height so that they would not be able to see us waving. And if a display wants us to extend, we can do both the 'rocky horror' and a waving run.
The trick with that manoeuvre is to make sure that I am well outside Matt's slipstream and a little higher, otherwise I can get nastily thrown around.

The same thing happens in our 'hamster loops', but we have a huge separation, so it's not risky. It seems that nobody filming except my wife Karen has ever been able to catch our hamster loops, and she only did it one cloudy day, so that's the only footage we have. http://youtu.be/2B4jxwDDRLw

We will try to get somebody to get some decent footage of that this year, if it ever stops raining.

And we might sound a little different with the new Hercules propellers. Not sure yet.

Thanks again for all your support, and big hugs to Sofi from f'bo Matt & f'bo Bob

I'm not surprised the photographers miss the Hamster loop, it sure is a unique feature! And you are of course exaggerating a bit Bob, it's not raining all the time. Tomorrow they promised gale force wind for a change. Surf's up!

May the 4's be with you/ Jörgen

Hi Guys,

After wrestling with some GoPro footage, I was at last able to upload this clip of us practising a month or so ago.

http://youtu.be/J7HZ8cfX3EI

For some reason the process has foreshortened Matt's aeroplane, but I think you should get the general idea.

I will try again soon with a longer clip, but Windows Movie Maker kept freezing after adding three short clips to make a movie.

Incidentally, I suspect the foresheortening is to do with screen aspect ratio and happens during the conversion from .mp4 to .avi

Does anybody have any ideas/solutions?

Yours, Bob

Great flying, amazing filming. And at the risk of starting a flame war (to which I will not respond) buy a Mac. For various reasons, some historical, some technical, editing video on Windows is like repairing a watch with vice grips/mole grips. Just not the right tool for the job.

Oh Steve, if only I could afford to buy a Mac.

All my little spare money goes on Fourniers (many would say a better investment!)

The GoPro was last year's big outlay.

This year's just might be an iPad, if I can convince myself that it is good for e-mails and GPS cross-country navigation and the SIM card doesn't cost too much for a guy who's only here half the year.

Thanks for the accolades. Unfortunately I can't use the GoPro headband set-up during our displays because I need to throw my head back for the half-Cuban and the camera whacks my canopy. Believe me, I've tried!

Yours, Bob
