Dawn to Dusk: Hi, I won this competition in 1994 with a flight in a 60 year old Hornet Moth (as on the cover of the Pilot magazine in the original PDF of this thread). My pilot was Colin Dodds, who also sorted out the loan of the aircraft. The flight covered 625 nm on a route with 40 turning points and took just over 8.5 hours flying time. The flight has to be completed in the hours of daylight in a single day and involve a minimum of 8 hours airborne time.
I did the research, in flight photography and route planning. The research was subsequently written up as my five volume regional survey of British aircraft manufacturers, entitled British Built Aircraft.
