We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mary and Zak Clement for hosting the Bu&BBQ over the years. Their hospitality and graciousness provided fond memories for the Bucker community.
From Zak:
Dear Bücker friends,
Our family has had the pleasure of hosting the Bücker BBQ since 2010. It brought such great joy to my late father, Gordon, to have everyone attend and enjoy Mountain Airpark. The memories we had flying formation, competing in flour bombing, and sitting around the fire telling stories will live on forever.
Our most recent event last September was particularly memorable with 15 Bückers in attendance total, a record year for us.
Unfortunately, in the most recent Association meeting, the conclusion was met having reviewed the Association by-laws and insurance policy, that gathers like this shouldn’t take place here. While I disagree and am disheartened in this decision, I must respect my neighbors here at the Airpark.
I’d like to thank everyone who has attended the Bücker BBQ over the years. It’s such a special weekend and means so much to my family that the event lived on after Dads passing. The commitment to fly hundreds of miles in many cases does not go unnoticed.
This event to me has always been about the people, about seeing friends that we may only see once per year. It won’t be at Mountain Airpark, at least for now, but I look forward to seeing you all at the next Bücker BBQ.
Thanks for the wonderful memories.
Zak Clement
