Pilot Decio Corrêa  explained that the Jungmann had just been fitted with new wings to replace the time-expired originals, and that the technician who performed the work rigged the wings Pitts style with more incidence on the top wing than the bottom. This caused the nose attitude to be different than he expected in this first airshow flight after the maintenance.

Corrêa went on to fly the aircraft in airshows for another 12 years, completing a 25 year long career in the airshow business.
