On January 1st 2018, aircraft flying in Europe will be required to use radios that permit 8.33 KHz channel spacing and so provide more than 2,000 channels, rather than the 720 available today. Here is a link to the regulation. In the USA, the situation is in some ways the reverse. 8.33 KHz radios work poorly here because the ground stations in use are often not capable of achieving the required accuracy. American aircraft will continue to use 720 channel radios for the foreseeable future. (There are plenty of 360 channel radios still in use, and even a few 90 channel units)
If you have replaced your 25 KHz com radio in order to meet the new requirements, perhaps a Bücker restorer or owner in the USA would like the opportunity to acquire it? If this is of interest, please let me know and I will attempt to connect donors and recipients
