From Hank Glapin:
Hi everyone,
A belated thank you for participating in the 35th National Bucker Fly-in. This community has been an important part of my aviation life since 1989, I think, and your presence proves that this is true for you too.
I should have written this note weeks ago because it was a team effort to make the event successful. Particular thanks go to Jay Billmayer, John Hickman, Chris Overson, Dave Stillinger, and Janice and Bruce Dickenson. (Janice absolutely saved my bacon by printing the certificates overnight when a package from Kalispell didn't show up.)
But what I really wanted to mention is that Helen Krybus called me today. Joe was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and admiration for his support of Bucker folks over these many years. That was exactly the reason we had the fly-in in Santa Paula: To honor Joe Krybus.
I also did an off-the-cuff calculation: 35 Buckers were represented at the fly-in. That's amazing.
We will gather again in Santa Paula next year. The date will be set in mid-winter. Put it on your calendar.
Hank
Congratulations to Hank, Jay and everyone who helped to organize this event. A tribute to Joe Krybus, who was done so much to support, and maintain the high value of Bücker aircraft was long overdue. Thanks Hank & crew, and thank you Joe for all you have dome for us.
