As the FAA insection date approaches, the last few details are coming into place. You can see here that a Unison "Slickstart" has been installed low down on the firewall. This electronic unit replaces the LOM starting buzzer, and has the advantage of providing a healthy spark down to about 9 Volts. With a 24V system, that is plenty of margin. You can also see the the K & N air filter on top of the engine mount, and an intake drain tube sticking through the bottom of the cowling.

On the right side, things are getting a little busy!

I wrapped the exhaust system in heat shilding tape to try an keep the cowling a little cooler. I also installed a blast tube to blow some cool air onto the gascolator.

With the engine compartment finished, the next task is installing the '8' plates over the leather strut boots.
