I just spoke with Larry and Barb Grondzki about the BU & BBQ.  The residents of Kitty Hawk will be able to accommodate a few pilots, but many of them have family visiting during the fly-in and will have their spare rooms filled.  So, Larry has made arrangements for transportation between Kitty Hawk and two local hotels:

Holiday Inn Express - 386-362-2600 Off I-10 East (Exit 283) which is 10 miles from Kitty Hawk.

Econ-O- Lodge 386-362-7459 (Across from Holiday Inn Express).

The plan is the same:

Planes arrive on Friday afternoon for an evening cookout, aerobatics etc.

On Saturday morning, the local EAA Chapter will host a pancake breakfast at the Live Oak airport right down the road.  They are offering a 30 cent discount on fuel (which is where we get our fuel anyway) which is nice.  Saturday afternoon will be filled with more aerobatics, flour bombing competition etc.  There will be a cookout that evening.

Sunday morning the planes depart.

There will be a group of us leaving Atlanta Friday morning.  We will stop in Fizgerald, GA (grass runway - 3500 ft long and 300 ft wide) and eat at Nabillas (good southern style buffet). Anyone flying to the event is welcome to join us.

See you at the BU & BBQ
