It was? October of 1971 in Greensboro, North Carolina that Bevo Howard, Jungmeister pilot and one of the greats of the American airshow circuit met his end. Much has been written about Bevo's last flight but John LaBarre sent a link to this authoratative account by Bob Russell.

The engine roared to life; and I walked over, sat down, and leaned against the tire of my Chipmunk to watch Bevo perform. I knew I was supposed to fly right after he finished and do my own ribbon pickup, so I was watching him carefully to see how the wind would affect his performance."
