LOM have a new version of their 4 cylinder engine which should be ideal for Jungmann. The LOM132AE is significanly shorter and lighter than the 332AK allowing it to fit within an unmodified Hirth or ENMA cowling with ease.
These improvements have been achieved by:
- Replacing the two PAL magnetos with electronic ignition
- Moving the fuel injection pump from its position on the rear of the camshaft housing to the former location of the right magneto
- Employing a new, light-weight starter
The "standard" engine has a total length of 1,046mm, the new 137AE is 930mm, and even shorter in the critical lower firewall area.
